How to Play the Guitar for Free
Are you tired of getting tips on leaning how to play the guitar only to discover it is not free in the end? The student usually ends up dropping some online lessons that come with a fee because they tend to be boring. They never want to try again because discouragement causes future artist to lose interest. Just follow these ten easy steps here and learn more ways to play.
- Have someone that actually plays the guitar have jam sessions with you. The other musician could play anything as long as they are willing to play with you it doesn’t matter.
- Don’t just concentrate on one particular type of music listen to other types. If the main interest is jazz there is no harm in listening and trying out metal music. Your sense of discovery and talent is developed.
- Lessons can be taken online. Young artists are provided free guitar lessons on hundreds of online sites dedicated to developing you as artists. You will be helped to achieve and grow with new ideas and tips.
- When playing different chords and scales should be used. Play the same song in a different key or tempo to experiment.
- Start learning new styles when listeners begin to notice the same key and type of music being played over and over. A nice change from conventional songs is a classical piece or a country song.
- Listen to other kinds of musical instruments besides the guitar. Listening to them live is not what this necessarily means. Listen to a few CD’s like Miles Davis’ and try some pop. Or what about Maxine or other new classic artist?
- The music you listen should be recorded. Be a critic of that music while listening to it before playing it. Use mistakes as guides and try to perfect the piece the next time instead of fretting.
- Challenge yourself. Study and try to play the music material you hate the most. Being able to play what you thought was impossible makes you feel better than anything.
- Giving your self a break once in a while is a good thing. For a day or two don’t even listen to music. Find a good book to read or try going to a movie.
- Practice without looking at the music. Only thirty minutes a day practicing new strokes is not sufficient. It is effective to practice for two to four hours a day.
The patience and discipline that someone who want to learn must have is what counts. Have fun while playing, be creative and learn from your mistakes.
